2603 Third AvenueFormerly: | Metropolitan Printing Press Building | It takes a little mental gymnastics, but this building is best appreciated if you can block out the garrish awnings that mar its facade. Otherwise, this is one of the stand-out art deco buildings in Seattle. With its vertical pilasters, stained glass, concrete geometric forms and medallions, it begs to be stared at and studied. Above the windows are chevrons and angles in concrete, a theme which is repeated at the roof line where a large horizontal blue band contains radiating chevrons in a repeating pattern. Quick Facts
