The historic name of this building is a little misleading. It wasn't an actual mill, like a factory. It was more of a store that sold knit goods from the Burson Knitting Mill and related accessories. But that was its second life, which started int he 1930's. This building's original purpose has been lost to time, but considering the large showroom windows, it was very likely a retail building. The generously sized central bay may indicate that this building was also used for light manufacturing, but there is no documentation to reinforce this.

Since its early days, this building has been repeatedly repurposed for use as a store, offices, and an entertainment venue.
